WORLD OF GOO AND RADEON 9000 MOBILITY
I recently purchased World of Goo from 2D Boy and wanted to run it on my laptop. When I would try to run the game, it would freeze up my system. Looking at the log file that was generated, it appeared that my graphic card was causing the issue.
After some searching, I turned up a forum post saying to install a program "driconf" (Debian based systems can get it from the repositories). I figured what the heck and gave it a shot.
After installing driconf, I ran the application as SU and clicked on the "Image Quality" tab and turned on "Enable S3TC texture compression even if software support is not available." I also turned on "Use HyperZ to boost performance" on the first tab for good measure :)
Now I can play World of Goo!
